Renuka Singh claimed figures of 4/10, as India Women booked their place in the semifinal spot by thrashing the Barbados Women by 100 runs in Birmingham at the ongoing Commonwealth Games on Wednesday.
After being asked to bat first by Barbados skipper, Shanika Bruce drew first blood by trapping Smriti Mandhana leg before wicket for 5.
Shafali Verma along with Jemimah Rodrigues featured in a 71 run stand for the second wicket before the former was run out, while attempting a second run for a 26 ball-43.
The Barbados bowlers pegged the Indians back with wickets of Harmanpreet Kaur (0) and Taniya Bhatia (6) in quick succession.
However Jemimah (56*) and Deepti Sharma (34*) brought the innings back on track with a scintillating unbeaten 70 run stand for the sixth wicket to take India Women to 162/4 in their allotted 20 overs.
Chasing 163, Renuka Singh wrecked the Barbados top order with wickets of Deandra Dottin , Hayley Matthews, Kycia Knight and Aaliyah Alleyne to reduce them to 19/4.
Barbados lost half their side when Sneh Rana knocked over Kyshona Knight for 16. In the end they ended up with a mere 62/8 in their allotted 20 overs.
India will now play the winner of the group game between England vs New Zealand in the semi-finals on August 6, Saturday.
