Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow smashed respective hundreds as England defeated India by seven wickets in the rescheduled fifth Test in Birmingham on Tuesday to level the five-match series 2-2.
Resuming at 259/3, the overnight pair of Root and Bairstow took on the Indian bowlers by smacking them to all parts of the ground.
Root remained unbeaten on 142, while Bairstow was not out on 114, as the hosts overhauled the target of 378 in 76.4 overs with seven wickets in hand.
