Quinton De Kock scored a scintillating 80 as the Lucknow Super Giants defeated the Delhi Capitals by six wickets at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.

After being asked to bat first, openers Prithvi Shaw and David Warner got Delhi off to a solid start. The pair added 67 runs for the opening stand before the former edged a Krishnappa Gowtham delivery behind the stumps for a sizzling knock of 61. His innings came off just 34 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes.

Ravi Bishnoi pegged the Capitals back with wickets of Warner and Rovman Powell in quick succession to reduce them to 74/3.

However skipper Rishabh Pant along with Sarfaraz Khan featured in an unbeaten 75 run stand for the fourth wicket to take DC to a competitive score of 149/3 in their allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 150, LSG openers KL Rahul and De Kock added 73 runs for the opening wicket before the former (24) was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav.

Evin Lewis miscued a pull off Lalit Yadav to Kuldeep at midwicket for 5. Left arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav brought the Delhi Capitals back into the contest by snaring the prize scalp of De Kock, caught at short third man by Sarfaraz Khan for a 52 ball-80.

With five needed off the last over, Deepak Hooda (11) sliced on to Axar Patel at sweeper cover off Shardul Thakur.

However Ayush Badoni (10*) held his nerve and slammed a four and a six, as Lucknow reached the target with 2 balls to spare.
