KL Rahul smashed a quickfire half century as India thrashed Scotland by eight wickets in Dubai on Friday.
After being asked to bat first by Indian skipper Virat Kohli , Scotland lost skipper Kyle Coetzer (1), bowled by Jasprit Bumrah’s off cutter.
George Munsey (24) looked solid during his brief stay before being dismissed by Mohammed Shami, caught at mid on by Hardik Pandya.
Ravindra Jadeja then got into the act by dismissing both Richie Berrington (0) and Matthew Cross (2) in his first over, leaving Scotland in a spot of bother at 29/4.
Jadeja claimed his third wicket by dismissing Michael Leask leg before wicket, while attempting to sweep across the line for a 12 ball-21.
Chris Greaves departed cheaply, as he mistimed a Ravichandran Ashwin delivery to Pandya at long off. Calum MacLeod hung around for a while before being cleaned up by a quicker delivery by Shami for 16.
Safyaan Sharif was run out by substitute Ishan Kishan following a horrible mix-up with Mark Watt. Shami completed a team hat-trick by dismissing Alasdair Evans with a brilliant yorker.
Bumrah wrapped up the innings by having Watt bowled while attempting an scoop, as Scotland were bundled out for 85 in 17.4 overs.
For India, Shami and Jadeja claimed 3 wickets each.
Chasing 86, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma got India off to a quickfire start. The duo added 70 runs for the opening stand before the latter was trapped LBW by Wheal’s unplayable yorker for 30.
Rahul smashed the Scottish bowlers to all parts of the ground. The Karnataka opener raced to his fifty off 18 balls but perished immediately after reaching the landmark, caught at long-on off Watt.
Suryakumar Yadav finished the game in style by smashing Chris Greaves for a maximum, as India raced to the target in just 6.3 overs.
