Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals 19 April Mumbai Match Report 2021

Moeen Ali claimed best figures of 3/7 as Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by 45 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday.

After being sent in by Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson, Chennai Super Kings got off to a shaky start as Ruturaj Gaikwad was dropped by Rahul Tewatia off the very first delivery. However Gaikwad did not last long as he sliced a Mustafizur Rahman ball to Shivam Dube mid-off.

Faf du Plessis attacked Jaydev Unadkat by smashing him for three fours and a six in the fifth over. Chris Morris broke the stand by getting his countrymen caught at deep point by Ryan Parag.

Moeen Ali dragged a Rahul Tewatia delivery to deep midwicket for 26. Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina added 45 runs for the fourth wicket before the former fell to Chetan Sakariya in the 14th over.

Sakariya struck again a few balls later, getting Raina caught at mid off by Chris Morris Morris at mid-off as CSK slumped to 125/5 in the 15th over.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni who walked in at No.7 struck two boundaries in his 17 ball 18 before being caught at extra cover by Jos Buttler.

Dwayne Bravo scored a quickfire 20 off 8 balls to take Chennai to 188/9 at the end of their allotted 20 overs.

Chetan Sakariya was the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan with figures of 3/36, while Chris Morris claimed 2 wickets.

Chasing 189, Jos Buttler was dropped by Shardul Thakur at short third man in the second over. Rajasthan lost their first wicket when Manan Vohra pulled a short ball from Curran straight to the deep. Skipper Sanju Samson was caught at mid off by Bravo for 1.

Buttler along with Shivam Dube added 42 runs for the third wicket, before the former was bowled by a brilliant delivery from Ravi Jadeja for 49.

Moeen Ali claimed the wickets of David Miller, Riyan Parag and Chris Morris leaving RR in tatters at 95/7.

Rahul Tewatia and Jaydev Unadkat delayed the inevitable by scoring 20 & 24 as Royals ended up with 143/9 giving Chennai a comfortable 43 run win.
