Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kings XI Punjab 29 April Match Report-2019

David Warner continued his vein rich of form by scoring yet another fifty, as Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Kings XI Punjab by 45 runs at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Monday.

Sunrisers Hyderabad included Abhishek Sharma, Mohammad Nabi and Sandeep Sharma, while Punjab included Arshdeep Singh, Prabhsimran Singh and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

After being sent into bat by Punjab XI skipper Hyderabad opening duo of David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha got off to a brisk start, as the pair added 78 runs in 38 balls before Saha was caught by debutant wicket keeper Prabhsimran Singh off Murugan Ashwin for a quickfire 28.

The in form Manish Pandey along with Warner added 82 runs for the second wicket, before skipper Ashwin struck twin blows by removing both the well set batsman in the 16th over.

Kane Williamson along with Nabi played short cameos towards the end, as the home side posted a massive score of 212/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

Mohammed Shami and skipper Ravichandran Ashwin bagged 2 wickets each.

Chasing a score of 213, Kings XI Punjab started badly as Chris Gayle was brilliantly caught by Pandey off Khaleel Ahmed for 4 in the third over.

Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul steadied the innings by putting on 60 runs for the second wicket, before the latter was dismissed by Rashid Khan for 27.

Nicolas Pooran looked good in his short stay before being caught by Bhuvneshwar Kumar off Ahmed for 10.

The visitors were in further trouble as David Miller and R Ashwin were dismissed in succession by Rashid, as Punjab were in spot of bother at 107/5.

Rahul along with Prabhsimran added 53 valuable runs for the sixth wicket, before the former after making a brilliant 79 was dismissed in the penultimate over. His knock comprised of four fours and 5 sixes, as Hyderabad restricted the Punjab XI to 167/8 at the end of their allotted 20 overs.

The 21 year old left arm fast bowler Khaleel along with Rashid Khan claimed 3 wickets each, while Sandeep Sharma bagged 2 wickets.

By virtue of this win, Sunrisers move into fourth position with 12 points.

David Warner was declared the Man of the Match.

The 49th match of the Indian Premier League will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals at Bengaluru on 30 April, Tuesday.
