Hobart Hurricanes have signed Women’s T-20 vice captain Smriti Mandhana for the fourth edition of WBBL.
The tournament will be played from 1st December to 26th January.
The Hurricanes opening game will be against Perth Scorchers at Melbourne.
In the Women’s Cricket Super League which was held in England this year, she was the top scorer in the tournament with 421 runs in 9 matches. This is the highest across all editions of WCSL as well as WBBL.
In the recently concluded Women’s World Cup in West Indies, she made 83 against Australia and 34 against England in the semifinal which ended in a losing cause, as they were knocked out of the tournament.
The 22 year old star left hander in the second season had played for Brisbane Heat, but she picked up an injury ahead of 2017 ICC World Cup.
