Team India after a hard fought win in the first match at Kolkata, will be looking to seal the T20 series when they take on the hosts West Indies in the the 2nd match in Lucknow on Tuesday.
The home side looked shaky in their 110 run chase in the first T20 at the Eden Gardens and will hope for a more polished performance in Lucknow.
Rohit Sharma, who is leading the side in the absence of the regular skipper Virat Kohli, was dismissed cheaply in Kolkata. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Manish Pandey also failed to create an impact with the bat.
Dinesh Karthik, who played a superb cameo in the Nidhas trophy final against Bangladesh, again delivered under pressure with the bat by playing a composed innings of 31 runs. Debutant Krunal Pandya also helped Karthik, with the duo stitching together an unbeaten 27 run stand to take India past the finishing line.
In the bowling front, Kuldeep Yadav once again proved a thorn in the flesh of the visitors with figures of 3/13.
The Windies, on the other hand, will be desperate to put up a better performance against the hosts.
The return of their T-20 stars Kieran Pollard and Darren Bravo did not really create any impact, and it was left to the lower order to drag them past the 100 mark.
Apart from debutant Oshane Thomas and captain Carlos Braithwaite, none of the other bowlers were able to exert pressure on India, who always managed to get a boundary whenever the asking rate seemed to be creeping up.
