Team India, being led by stand in skipper Rohit Sharma will be facing Hong Kong at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Tuesday, September 18.
After being crushed in their first game against Pakistan, Hong Kong will be hoping to put up a better performance.
Both teams have faced each other just once before in the Asia Cup, back in 2008, when India emerged victorious by 256 runs. Batting first they had amassed 374/4 in 50 overs before routing out Hong Kong for a mere 118 runs.
They come into this tournament on the back of a disappointing Test series lost against England.
Rohit Sharma’s men will be looking to have an easy game with the minnows, before facing arch rivals Pakistan on September 19.
Regular skipper Virat Kohli has been rested owing to workload.
The likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul and former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni would be looking to get some valuable batting practice, ahead of the match against Pakistan.
Ambati Rayudu and Manish Pandey are likely to fight for the Nos 4 Spot.
India would be contemplating giving the senior guys a break to keep them fresh ahead of the match against arch rivals.
Jasprit Bumrah is likely to be rested for this match. Left Arm seamer Khaleel Ahmed is expected to make his ODI Debut.
