First Game of IPL 2019- Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Match Report 23 March 2019

Chennai Super Kings’ spinners wove a web around Bangalore’s batsmen as the home side thumped the visitors by seven wickets in the opening match of the 2019 Indian Premier League at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday evening. The game was expected to be a blockbuster clash, but ended up being a one sided one as the troika of Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir and Ravindra Jadeja proved too hot to handle for the poor RCB batsmen on a tough Chennai wicket.

RCB opted for AB de Villiers, Shimron Hetmeyer, Moeen Ali and Colin de Grandhomme as their overseas options while Chennai, somewhat surprisingly, went with just three foreign players- the PSL winning Quetta duo of Shane Watson & Dwayne Bravo and South African spinner Tahir. List of Players bought at IPL Auction-2019

Here are the list of KKR players bought during the IPL Auction 2019 at Jaipur.

Despite having hard hitting Andre Russell in the squad, KKR roped in yet another all rounder in the form of West Indies captain Carlos Brathwaite who was bought for a whopping Rs 5 crore.

They also added New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson who was bought for Rs. 1.6 crore.

Maharashtra wicket keeper batsman Nikhil Naik and domestic cricketer Prithviraj Yaara were bought for 20 lakhs.

During the last round of the auction, Joe Denly was purchased at his base price of Rs. 1 crore
