The BCCI has announced a 15-member squad for the five-match T20I series against South Africa women beginning next month.
Anushka Sharma earns maiden senior team call-up. The first two games will be played in Durban on April 17 and 19. Johannesburg will host the next two matches on April 22 and 25, while the final fixture will be played in Benoni on April 27.
The squad features the likes of Uma Chetry and Kashvee Gautam. Vaishnavi Sharma, Sneh Rana, G. Kamalini and Amanjot Kaur have been excluded from the squad.
The South Africa tour serves as a good preparation ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which begins on June 12 in England. South Africa and India are drawn in the same group alongside Australia, Pakistan and two teams from the qualifiers.
