Jeffrey Vandersay claimed figures of 6/33, as Sri Lanka beat India by 32 runs in the second one day international at Colombo on Sunday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the hosts started disastrously by losing Pathum Nissanka for a golden duck off Mohammed Siraj in the very first over.
The pair of Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis added 74 runs for the second wicket stand before the former perished to Washington Sundar for 40.
Kusal was then trapped leg before wicket by Sundar for 30. The Lankans lost wickets off Sadeera Samarawickrama (14), Janith Liyanage (12) and skipper Charith Asalanka (25) as they slumped to 131/6.
First match hero Dunith Wellalage along with Kamindu Mendis combined together in a valuable 72 run stand for the seventh wicket before Kuldeep Yadv broke the partnership by dismissing the well set Wellalage for 39.
Kamindu (40) and Akila Dananjaya (15) made useful contributions down the order to take their side to a competitive score of 240/9 in their 50 overs.
In response, openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill got India off to a fantastic start. The duo added 97 runs for the opening wicket before Jeffrey Vandersay provided the crucial break through by dismissing Rohit for 64. Gill then fell to outstanding one handed catch at slip by Kamindu Mendis for 35.
Vandersay then wrecked the middle order with wickets of Shivam Dube (0), Virat Kohli (14), Shreyas Iyer (7) and KL Rahul (0) as the visitors were reduced to 147/6.
Axar Patel and Washington Sundar brought the visitors back into the contest by adding 38 runs for the seventh wicket stand before Charith Asalanka ended the stand by dismissing Axar to a magnificent caught and bowled for 44.
Asalanka also trapped Sundar (15) and Mohammed Siraj (4) with the score on 201. Arshdeep Singh was the last man dismissed to a run out as they were bowled out for 208, giving the hosts a 32 run win.
