A fine official crowd of 75,730 was in attendance at the Narendra Modi Stadium (Motera) in Ahmedabad as the Kolkata Knight Riders booked their spot in the final of IPL 2024 after thrashing Sunrisers Hyderabad.
SRH captain Pat Cummins bizarrely opted to bat first after winning the toss and his compatriot Mitchell Starc bowled a blistering powerplay spell as the Hyderabad outfit lost four wickets inside the first six overs.
Rahul Tripathi and Heinrich Klaasen attempted to resurrect the things and even somewhat managed to do so, but both fell just as they were beginning to threaten, and SRH slumped to 159 in their 20 overs.
The total was never going to really challenge KKR, and they raced home in under 14 overs.
SRH will now play the winner of the RCB RR eliminator.
