Delhi Capitals Women vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Women Match 7 Attendance 25,644 Bengaluru Match Report 2024

Smriti Mandhana’s fighting knock of 74 went in vain as Delhi Capitals women defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore Women by 25 runs in front of 25,644 crowd at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday.

After being asked to bat first by RCB skipper, Delhi Capitals Women openers Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma added 28 runs for the opening stand before the former perished to Sophie Devine for 11.

Shafali along with Alice Capsey put on 82 runs for the second wicket stand before Shreyanka Patil broke the stand by dismissing the dangerous Shafali for a quickfire 50.

Delhi lost a bit of momentum with Jemimah Rodrigues and Alice Capsey falling in quick succession. Marizanne Kapp (32) and Jess Jonassen (36)* provided finishing touches in the end to help Delhi Capitals reach a mammoth score of 194/5 in their 20 overs.

In response, Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine got RCB off to a magnificent start. The duo added 77 runs for the opening stand before the latter was dismissed by Arundhati Reddy for 23.

Mandhana fought a lone battle with a 74-run knock, but failed to get support from other batters as RCB could muster 169/9 in 20 overs, thereby losing the contest by 25 runs.
