Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals Game 34 April 24 Hyderabad Match Report 2023

All rounder Axar Patel scored a valuable 34 and also claimed figures of 2/21 as Delhi Capitals defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 runs in a low scoring thriller at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday.

After being sent into bat, Delhi lost Phil Salt (0) in the very first over, as he was caught behind the stumps off Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Mitchell Marsh scored a quick-fire 15 ball-25 before being trapped leg before wicket by T Natarajan. The Capitals lost wickets of the well set David Warner (21), Sarfaraz Khan (10) and Aman Hakim Khan (4) leaving them in a a spot of bother at 62/5.

The pair of Manish Pandey and Axar bailed their side out of trouble with a valuable sixth wicket stand of 69 runs before the later was cleaned up by a yorker from Bhuvneshwar for a run a ball 34.

Manish (34) was then run-out while attempting a second run off Sundar. In the end DC ended up with 144/9 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 145, Harry Brook and Mayank Agarwal got Sunrisers off to a solid start. The pair added 31 runs for the opening wicket before the former was bowled by Anrich Nortje while attempting a scoop for 7.

Agarwal (49) miscued a delivery from Axar Patel to Aman Hakim Khan at long on. Rahul Tripathi struggled to get going and was caught behind by Phil Salt off Ishant Sharma for 15.

Abhishek Sharma and skipper Aiden Markram fell soon after as SRH lost half their side for 85. Heinrich Klaasen along with Washington Sundar provided a glimmer of hope with a crucial 41 run stand for the sixth wicket before the former perished to Nortje while attempting a big hit.

With 13 needed off the final over, Mukesh Kumar held his nerve as the hosts managed 137/6 in their 20 overs thereby falling 7 run short of the target. Sundar remained unbeaten on 24 off just 15 balls.
