India vs South Africa 3rd T20I Indore Match Report 2022

Rilee Rossouw scored a magnificent hundred as South Africa beat India by 49 runs in the fourth T20 international at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Tuesday.

After being asked to bat first by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav drew first blood by dismissing the out of form Temba Bavuma chipping a catch to Rohit at short midwicket.

The pair of Quinton De Kock and Rossouw added 90 runs for the second wicket before the former was run out by a brilliant by Shreyas Iyer from deep midwicket boundary for a fine 68.

The left hander featured in yet another 87 run stand for the third wicket alongside Tristan Stubbs before the latter(23) perished to Deepak Chahar.

Rossouw scored a superb 48 ball-100 to take South Africa to a mammoth score of 227/3 in their allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 228, India got off to poor start as Rohit Sharma dragged a back-of-length delivery from Kagiso Rabada onto his stumps for a duck.

Shreyas Iyer was then trapped leg before wicket by Wayne Parnell for 1.

Rishabh Pant who opened the innings in place of KL Rahul looked in fine touch before chipping a catch to Stubbs at cover-point for 27.

Dinesh Karthik who came up the order smashed a breezy 21 ball-46 before being bowled by Keshav Maharaj while attempting a reverse scoop.

Dwaine Pretorius then struck a body blow by dismissing the in form Suryakumar Yadav , where Stubbs took a brilliant catch at deep point.

Harshal Patel, Axar Patel and Ravi Ashwin fell in quick succession as the hosts slumped to 120/8.

Deepak Chahar and Umesh Yadav provided some resistance with a 48 run stand for the ninth wicket before Pretorius claimed Chahar for a quickfire 17 ball-31.\

All rounder Pretorius claimed the final wicket by dismissing Mohammed Siraj (5), as the hosts were bowled out for 178 in 18.3 overs.

With this victory the Proteas avoided the series whitewash.
