The 33 year old Trinidadian scored a quickfire 38 off 11 balls against Sri lanka in the first T-20 international on Thursday. The West Indies rounder took on Akila Danajaya by smashing him for 36 runs in his third over.
The 27 year old right arm leg spinner spinner also took a hat-trick by dismissing Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran off successive deliveries.
The Windies skipper followed in the footsteps of former South African opener Gibbs who smashed Netherland’s Daan van Bunge for six consecutive sixes against the Netherlands in the 2007 World Cup and India’s Yuvraj Singh, who also achieved the feat in the 2007 T-20 World Cup against England.
