Team India after the ODI and the T-20 series will be locking horns with England in the first of the five test match series, which is set to begin on August 1
Indian captain and star batsman Virat Kohli will be leading the team for the first time in a bilateral series against England in England.
England will be the first team in the cricketing history to have played 1000 test matches.
In his first tour for England in the year 2014, Kohli had only managed 134 Runs in 5 matches. He will be hoping to turn the tables.
In the batting department Shikhar Dhawan and the normally reliable no 3 Cheteshwar Pujara’s poor outings in the practice game against Essex will be matter of concern for the visitors.
However the likes of Rahul, and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik enjoyed success in that practice game.
In the bowling department, they will miss the services of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah.
They will also without their reliable wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha who has been ruled out due to shoulder injury.
Karthik will be looking to cash in and make most of this opportunity.
Despite Rishabh Pant’s excellent run for India A in the ongoing tour, Karthik is likely to get the nod.
They will hoping that the likes of Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Shami and their spinners come to their party and the absence of their best bowlers aren’t felt.
The 23 year old left arm bowler Kuldeep Yadav who had a good outing in the ODI’S, would be hoping to replicate the same form in test series as well.
