Former South African batsman Jean-Paul Duminy smashed 37 runs in an over playing for Cape Cobras against the Knights in the country’s List-A competition.
The left-hander was in the belligerent mood on the day in the 37th over as he smashed leg-spinner Eddie Leie for four consecutive sixes on the first four deliveries of the over.
The fifth delivery, however, went for just a couple of runs.
Duminy now holds the national record of scoring most runs in an over. Though Herschelle Gibbs remains the only batsman from South Africa to hit 6 sixes in a single over, the feat which he achieved in 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup against Netherlands.
