South Africa vs Bangladesh Group D Attendance 22,658 New York Match Report 2024

Keshav Maharaj claimed figures of 3/27 in front of 22,658 crowd as South Africa beat Bangladesh by 4 runs in a thriller at the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 on Monday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, South Africa were reduced to 23/4, as Tanzim Hasan Sakib claimed figures of 3/18.

The pair of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller put on 79 runs for the fifth wicket stand before the former perished to Taskin Ahmed for a valuable 44.

In the end Proteas finished at 113/6 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 114, Bangladesh got off to a shaky start as they were reduced to 50/4. However the pair of Towhid Hridoy and Mahmudullah stitched together a valuable 44 run stand for the fifth wicket stand before the former perished to Kagiso Rabada for 37.

The Tigers lost a bit of momentum in the final stages as they slumped to 108/7.

With 11 needed off the final over, Keshav Maharaj held his nerve to give the Proteas a 4 run win.

Pakistan vs USA Group A T20 World Cup Dallas Match 11 Match Report 2024

Left-arm pacer Saurabh Netravalkar defended 18 runs in the Super Over as United States of America pulled off a thrilling win against Pakistan at the Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas on Thursday.

After being put into bat, Pakistan lost Mohammad Rizwan to a brilliant catch by Steven Taylor at slip off Netravalkar for 9. Usman Khan (3) perished while trying to take on Nosthush Kenjige.

Ali Khan then got into the act by dismissing Fakhar Zaman for 9. The pair of Babar Azam along with Shadab Khan featured in a valuable 72 run stand for the fourth wicket stand before the latter fell to Kenjige for a quickfire 25 ball- 40.

Azam Khan was trapped by Kenjige for a golden duck as Pakistan slumped to 98/5. However useful runs down the order from Shaheen Shah Afridi and Iftikhar Ahmed helped Pakistan reach 159/7 in their 20 overs.

In response, USA openers Steven Taylor and skipper Monank Patel got their side off to a solid start. The pair added 36 runs for the opening stand before Naseem Shah broke the stand by dismissing Taylor caught behind the stumps for 12.

Monak featured in a second wicket stand of 68 runs alongside Andries Gous before both the well set batters fell in quick succession.

With 15 needed off the final over, Haris Rauf gave away just 3 runs in first three deliveries. In the fourth ball Aaron Jones smashed a six over wide long on. With 5 needed off the last ball, Nitish Kumar (14)* hit a boundary off the final ball over mid off as USA finished at 159/3.

In the Super Over, USA made 18 runs. In response, Pakistan managed 13/1, thereby falling 5 run short of the target.

USA skipper Monank Patel was adjudged the Player of the Match for his fine performance.

Sri Lanka vs South Africa Attendance 12,562 T20 World Cup 2024 New York USA Group D

A decent crowd of 12,562 was officially in attendance to watch SL v SA at the 2024 T20 World Cup in New York. This was the opening match of Group D, and the Proteas won the game by six wickets.

Sri Lanka captain Wanindu Hasaranga won the toss and opted to bat first, a decision that backfired badly as the four pronged Proteas pace attack made life difficult for the Lankan batsmen.

Anrich Nortje finished with figures of 4/7 in his four overs while Ottneil Baartman, who became the first South African bowler to take a wicket off his maiden World Cup delivery, conceded just 9 runs in his 4.
