Team India have named their squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 which is set to begin on February 7.
Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the side while Axar Patel has been named his deputy. Shubman Gill, who was vice-captain of the squad in the recently concluded T20I series against South Africa, and Jitesh Sharma have been axed from the set up.
Left hander Ishan Kishan who had a sensational Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign has got a look in. Before the marquee event, the defending champions will be playing five T20Is against New Zealand from January 21 to 31.
The Men in Blue are in Group A alongside Pakistan, Namibia and Netherlands. They will kickstart their campaign against USA on February 7 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
