Sarfraz Ahmed to lead Pakistan in all 3 Formats
Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was handed over test captaincy after he led his team to an Champions Trophy title in England. His first assignment as test captain will be in the three-match Test series against Sri Lanka which is likely to be held on the neutral venue of the United Arab Emirates in October. Ahmed has already led Pakistan in nine one-day internationals since last year, winning seven and losing two. He has also led in eight Twenty20s, by winning seven and losing just one.
South Africa’s Test Squad for 2017 England Tour
Here are the list of South Africa’s test players who are going to feature against England starting from July 6. They have added fresh faces including wicketkeeper Heino Kuhn, Aiden Markram and allrounder Andile Phehlukwayo. The players to get the axe are Stephen Cook and Wayne Parnell. Afghanistan, Ireland get Test Status
Afghanistan and Ireland have received test status from ICC. They have become the 11th and 12th test playing nations. This was approved during the ICC’s AGM which was held in London. In the year 2005 Ireland were runners up in the ICC tournament, to get their maiden World Cup berth. After 2 years they shocked Pakistan on St Patrick’s day in Jamaica and from there on they never looked back by qualifying for the consecutive world cup which they defeated England and West Indies to go ahead and remain competitive with the other test playing nations. They had players like Ed Joyce,William Boyd Rankin has played cricket for both England and Irish. Warren Deutrom the Ireland Chief Exeuctive said that players won’t leave in the future.
